Enrichment Activities
‘Supporting pupils’ SEMH needs‘
Enrichment activities take place very afternoon from 13:05pm – 2:00pm.
All enrichment activities offer pupils the opportunity for non-academic structure and enable them to increase their social and emotional resilience through team-work ad independent learning. All sessions require focus and commitment thereby raising pupils’ confidence and self-esteem. The range of activities on offer allow for all pupils to have the opportunity to experience activities not usually available to them. Since activities are either run or attended by Helix staff, pupils feel safe and secure to take on new experiences.
The range of activities on offer allow the pupils to succeed in non-core areas where many of them are talented. The student council have an input into the activities that are on offer.
Our Year 11s also take part in revision on some afternoons and we offer 1:1 interventions to support learning.
We plan and lead a range of enrichment activities. In 2018/19, these include:
- Horse Riding
- Table Tennis
- Food (incorporating ASDAN Short Course: Foodwise)
- Film Club
- Sport
- Girls’ Group (incorporating aspects of PSHE & ASDAN Short Course: Hair & Beauty)
